Hello everyone. How's it going? I have struggled for many years with acne and any other kinds of blemishes on my face and it has NOT been fun. I have spent TONS of time researching and trying many different products through the years. About 2 weeks ago, I started using a Salicylic acid regimen and each day after I started, my skin has continued to get worse. It has taken a huge toll on me mentally and I stress about it constantly. I can't remember the last time I had clear skin. Anyway, back to the matter at hand...I feel like an acne bomb as exploded. At least, I'm assuming it's acne. I have read many articles about skin purging and I'm really hoping that this is the issue I'm having. It could also be that my skin is furious with the Salicylic acid. I feel like I should quit using the Salicylic acid, but from what I have read, you need to keep using a product and give it a chance. I would love to hear opinions or experiences. I have posted a photo and you will quickly see how much of a mess my face is. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope to hear from you. Have a good one!
My honest opinion?
i would ditch all the products, get to your dr and dont leave without oral anti biotic such as tetracycline,i would avoid penecillin based.if you can get a prescriotion strength topical also that would be great.
your skin is red, thats usualy not a good sign.
idea is to return your skin to normal, not try and create a regime that gets you struggling.
i dont eat dairy cos i just dont est dairy,i rarely come across it cos i drink tea without milk, thats just me and i avoid chicken products cos its easy to do as theres loads of other meats out there.
i just use a moisturiser thats good fir my face ie:it dont make my face red and burn and it dont clog my pores,i just dont use on my nose as it makes my nose burst out with rosacea.
so just moisturiser and i am currently finishing my first month on tetracycline,it has pretty much kept me spot free for a month and i got another months wirth to go.i got it for folliculitus but its also cleared my face as well as my scalp.
i try to avoid spot creams on my face as the idea is to have normal skin and normal skin dosnt have acids applied to it every day.
so wash with warm clean water, pat dry with clean dry towel.dont touch or pick your face and keep your hygene good,i wash my hands several times a day.
eat good, dont start dropping stuff and make matters worse.
get to dr,dont leave without some oral anti biotic,if you can get a prescription strength topical also.just apply topicals to the spot, not an area or whole face,we are trying to have normal skin here not a red chemical face that stinks weird.
get back and update us with result of dr visit.
