Hello everyone, i'm a 22 years old female, been suffering from acne for the last 10 years, i'm after a course of accutan and iv'e been taking birth control pills for a while now (estelle 35), my skin has been clear for about 6 monthes and ive been breaking out now and can't figure out why, i dont know what to do i think if ill go to my dermatologist she will give me accutan again and I cant figure out why it keeps coming back, does any of you tried any special blood tests to see whats wrong? food allergy test? stool test? any special hormon test? I stopped eating almost everything accept vegetables meat and fish. i think about taking supplements that help acne like vitamin E and Zinc but i dont know which to choose and what I lack of.
sorry about my English im from Italy.
sorry i haven't had any tests myself. there is some old threads about people having all sorts of blood tests. hormone tests etc. worth doing a search as its quite interesting reading.
i was wondering, how are you treating your skin? how many times a day do you wash your face?
also do you know what type of acne/skin problem you have?

I think my acne is hormonal but I'm not sure anymore, right now I use epidoue gel and I wash my face about twice a day, can't do less because I usually use makeup to hide the acne, I guess my skin type is sensitive
i also have a hormonal/ sensitive skin problem. for me, i learnt its 40% diet and 60% what i do / use on my skin.
i would recommend that you read up on hormonal acne, diet and acne, Sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS), toothpaste and acne.. and acne friendly makeup (non-comedogenic)
it might not work for you but you might need to avoid certain things in your diet and be careful what you use on your face.
