I've been a dermatologist and gotten many antibiotics but it does not work. Erythromycin, mini cyclone and etc. I'm trying to figure out what I can eat to stop my acne. Every thing I search up it says it's bad for acne . Example : fruit high in sugar , peanuts nuts , oatmeal , bread rice meats . Literally everything I eat it says it causes acne . What do you guys eat to prevent acne . Please help out guys . I've also tried acne.org regains for 7 months last couple year and 5 months this year but it does not work for me. Please help guys and I would like somr advice .

In my opinion diet is not the whole solution , if it plays any part whatsoever. There is no strong evidence that it does. A dermatologist is the best way forward and you can get a diagnosis and consider lots of different treatment options. All the best.

I respectively disagree, Juwalker. Diet plays a part, perhaps a significant part.

I do agree, though, that diet isn't the whole solution. Once more, different people's bodies have unique responses, which makes answering FittingDesign's question difficult. I've dug into some research and have written blog posts about it, and I wish there was one definitive "holy grail" that worked all the time for all the people. There's not.

What does work is tackling the problem from multiple fronts.

Make a list of obvious contributing culprits like dairy, sugar, wheat, anything that's prone to trigger an inflammatory response. Eliminate like you have and find what you react to and what you don't.
Reduce exposure to toxins.
Cut down on stress.
Exercise.
Drink plenty of fluids.
Be judicious in taking supplements and applying topical treatments, being mindful of any ingredients which may pose a problem.

None of this is new but it's usually a good idea to start with the low hanging fruit and then work work up from there. Of course, medical professionals should be consulted along the way.

All the best.

the only main trigger for me is sugar. in my case, mainly fizzy drinks (coke) and to a lesser extent, sweets.

but it all comes down to what type of skin you have and your acne type.

might be worth doing a search but some people say they see good results using head and shoulders for treating hormonal acne (left on the skin for 10 mins before washing off).

You should take following foods to cure acne.
  1. Probiotics. Found in kombucha, sauerkraut and pickles.
  2. Omega-3 Fatty Acids.
  3. Antioxidants.
  4. Zinc.
  5. Coconut oil.
  6. Whey Protein.
  7. High-Glycemic Foods.
  8. Dairy.

Diet is definitely part of the problem.

I'll be writing a longer post on this soon. But certain foods with a high glycemic index (such as carbs) can cause your blood sugar to spike. This can cause your skin to breakout.

You might benefit from avoiding dairy too. Dairy contains an extra amount of hormones from the cows. And hormones and other androgens can trigger your acne to appear.
