Hello. My name is MoMo and I've been struggling with acne for about 5-6 years now. And over the years I feel like my acne has gotten worse. I have tried product after product. I've tried dermatologica, Proactive (which I feel didn't work at all for me), neutropenia, clean and clear, etc etc, as well as tried some natural home remedies, such as honey, witch hazel, steaming my face, etc. and I just feel like nothing is working out. I am at the point of desperation for anything to help cure my acne and get clear skin. My breaks outs are mainly around my cheeks.I've tried multiple products with Benzoyl peroxide and salilyic acid, but I feel those ingredients do nothing for my skin. I just need some advice on what to do. It's depressing me.

What kind of acne do you have? Closed comedones/blackheads, inflamed whiteheads, cysts? Once I know this info, perhaps I could recommend some products! As far as location goes, I find that I also experience most of my acne on my cheeks and it tends to be very hormonal and diet-related. Cutting out dairy was HUGE for me and cut my cystic cheek acne in half at least. I also take a probiotic daily to keep up good gut health. Digestive problems can lead to acne. Also I am unable to gather your biological gender from this post, but women often find success with birth control to balance out hormones and significantly improve acne. Be in touch!

Have you had any appointments with a dermatologist yet? I think you need a prescription topical/medication to have any results, especially if you've already tried so many non-prescription products.

Try birth control! I had acne for about 5 years and went to about 6 different dermatologists. I had tried every pill & topical out there (which did help with maintaining my acne, but never fully got to the root of it) I also went on other acne medications that helped moderately. Finally, my dermatologist prescribed me birth control to level out my hormones and my skin is clearer than it has ever been. I won't lie to you and say it happened over night, but within in the first sixth months, I noticed significant change. Now, I've been on it for about 2 years and my skin a great! I'm still working on the few scars and I get the occasional pimple, but I swear by birth control!!! (BTW, I never experienced any negative side affects, specifically weight gain which I was super nervous about). I'd atleast give it a try if nothing else has worked. Other things that helped a lot while on the pill: cetaphil face wash!!* , neutrogena exfloliating scrub, minocyline (spelling might be off), WATER, & topicals.
