Hi, I am a 17 year old male and I suffer acne. I wouldn't say it's severe but it's definitely not moderate. It's gotten worse. It started when I was going into high school, but up until that point I had great skin and felt superior to everyone around me who had my skin now. Which makes me think I was a late bloomer because now those people have clear skin. I get white heads all over but mainly under my nose near my mustache area and my chin near my mouth. It's everywhere on my forehead and scattered on my cheeks. It's also on the back. Pretty bad back there too. Like I said I'm 17 and am hoping that it would start declining soon but I see no evidence of that. Any help is help and I accept any, so thank you.
Gabe.
Whenever I shave using a straight razor, I get the same white heads on my chin and cheeks, so buying a quality razor might help. Have you noticed the whiteheads seem to appear after shaving?
Hi Gabe,
As a 17 year old myself with bad acne that has become worse just recently, I have tried soooooo many products. Everyone's skin is different but for me, I found that Thursday Plantation's skin care line is pretty good. It is very gentle and natural (I have super sensitive skin and it doesn't do any damage for me which is a miracle!). I use the tea tree based foaming face wash, toner and ointment. I don't know what country you live in, but the products are available online and in Australia and New Zealand grocery stores and pharmacies. Failing the use of these products for a fortnight, if you don't see enough of a difference, go to the doctors. Try and see a dermatologist. Not sure if you're already doing this but shower twice a day, use an exfoliating glove for your back with antibacterial body soap such as Sapoderm from Dettol, keep your hair clean, change your pillow cases every couple of nights and avoid touching your face. Also, make sure your razor is clean and free of bacteria. Also, maybe use disposable razors, using the same razor for only 2-3 shaves?
Good luck with your skin!
Jacinta.
