Just finished a course of Accutane and looking into doing a more natural options to keeping my oil/acne pore skin under control.
Never heard of the 2 natural remedies Lugols Iodine and Neem until started reading up on them a few days ago....but seem to have excellent results with no side effects as all natural. It seems both can be taken externally or internally.
Anyone have any positive results from either of these?
Thanks again and appreciate any replies..
Lugols Iodine by far. Like i've told you before it did wonders for all my skin problems and I saw positive changes from day one of using Iodine orally.
When taking Iodine be sure to also supplement with; Magnesium Glycinate, Vitamin B3 (as Niacinamide), Vitaminm C (pref. as absorbic acid), Boron complex, Celtic sea salt, Selenium, Vitamin K (AVOID THIS ONE IF YOU HAVE TAKEN ACCUTANE), Zinc (not reallynecessary, but will help you. only take 15-20 mg every third day though - because if you take it everyday you have to supplement with copper which I'm not a fan of). Using a liver supporting herb is also recommended (milk thistle, dandelion or liv52).
also JCROWS Lugols Iodine 5% solution is the one you should buy. You can get it through Amazon. Your starting dose should be 1 drop of the 5% solution diluted with 4oz of water with a meal (not the first meal of the day, since some people have complained about stomach pain after taking Iodine on empty stomach - I have never experienced that though..) Then work your dose up gradually. You will aim to be on 50mg daily after at least 3 months of using Iodine. 1 drop of the 5% solution is 6.25mg.
Also taking all the supplements a couple days in advance to starting treatment will help you, but isn't necessary if you are sure you don't suffer from some thyroid disease.
Also don't use toothpaste with flouride while supplementing with Iodine. Baking Soda would be the best thing to brush your teeth with and is 100% safe.

Washer, do you buy all those listed items separate or can you buy them as one supplement? thanks again
Neem is meant to be fantastic, but I've just taken a relatively high dose for a couple months and my skin certainly isn't better.
Definitely go for lugol's iodine if you're looking for an iodine, and JCrow's is a good brand. The stuff you get from the pharmacy is not the same. I've never taken iodine internally because it can impact your thyroid function. Go carefully if you decide to take it and stop it if you get a racing heart, feel jittery, etc. Another way to get iodine naturally is in seaweed, like bladderwrack.
If you decide against taking it orally, you can use it topically as it is easily absorbed by the skin and you're less likely to overdo it. (Do a skin patch test first-- it has a strong color. If you're iodine deficient it shouldn't stain.)
Good luck!
