Okay so here's the deal I'm new here so if anybody else is covered this please be gentle. I have been blessed with good skin but periodically I get pimples like everyone else. I have noticed that the pimples around my mouth and chin area are different than anywhere else on my face. For example, if I pop a pimple anywhere on my face other than around my mouth typically it will scab, heal, and disappear within a couple of days. However I have noticed that if I pop a whitehead around my mouth/chin area and just get the surface pus out, it will reform and keep reforming usually by the next day. It's not until I squeeze a little deeper and a little bit more firmly until a white, rice like wax core comes out and then that pimple will heal within a day or two. But only after I get that rice like waxy core comes out will it heal without reforming. It measures about a 16th of an inch long, maybe a skosh longer? Has anybody ever encountered this? Admittedly I am interested in what the material is - I'm sure it's probably sebum, pus, dead skin cells etc, but I'm also interested in why it's there, and why I only get those types of pimples around my mouth and Chin? Can anyone help?
Lol. It's sebum. I've always gotten these, even before I had acne prone skin. It's normal, it's basically a blackhead. All the pus and swelling is your immune system trying to get rid of it. They do usually happen around the mouth and chin...it's an oily area...who knows. That's pretty normal though.
