Hi gals i need help! I have this bump under my skin it doesnt have a head but it left this brownish mark. I had a similar one last time that i popped and all the gunk spewed out and flattened, but i tried to pop this one that i have right now and nothing came out. Worse still, i think i became bigger and more swollen:( what should i do guys? Im not sure whether its a cyst or nodule or papule but it cannot be seen on the surface except that it has a brown mark and can be felt when i touch it.It is near my cheekbone too... should i get a cortisone shot? It has been here for a week. I really wanna see my derm but it is so hard to book an appointment and im desperate
Sounds like it's either a cyst or a module that hasn't fully developed. It's just inflamed from you poking at it and it'd be best if you left it alone because form LOTS of personal experience I've realized picking at cysts is a huge mistake. Apply a topical like benzoyl peroxide or a topical antibiotic to help clear it up. Take ibuprofen to help with the swelling. Other than that, you pretty much just have to let it run its course!! An ice compress could help to temporarily take down the redness and inflammation. Just try to leave it alone, it'll go away!!!
