hi everyone. so ive been using a couple on acne treatments including aczone, mario badescu drying lotion, and benzoyl peroxide cream and while they are all working to dry out my acne, I am left with very dry scabs and scaly skin (almost looks burnt in one section). although the blemishes are almost gone whenever I put makeup over these areas they just look worse. I have been trying to exfoliate and moisturize but its only helping to a degree. does anyone have good remedies or products that work? I was going to try a oatmeal and greek yogurt mask after work but is there something better i could be doing?

Do you have a humidifier in your bedroom? It helps me a lot, especially in the dry, indoor heat of winter. Also, avoid gel moisturizers and opt for a cream one instead. I like Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Cream (NOT the Gel or the Lotion). It doesn't break me out at all. I tried millions of moisturizers of all prices and this is by far the most hydrating. A little goes a long way, I only use a pearl-sized amount and pat (don't rub) it onto my skin right after cleansing. Oh, and take it easy on the exfoliation until the scabs and scaly/burnt areas are healed. Good luck!
