I think if we were supposed to clear our acne naturally, natural treatments would work.
If you want to clear your acne, I wouldn't recommend relying on natural methodssince nature probably wants us to have acne in the first place.
I read a theory which states that the purpose of acne may be to make us unattractive to the opposite sex. This prevents us from reproducing when we're not mentally mature: this is why acne is most common in teenagers. The person also addressed the issue of adult acne and said adults who were very stressed (and had acne as a result of it) were not ready to care for children either.Nature favors healthy physical development and continuation of the species but doesn't seem to care about the emotional damage that it causes. We suffer as a result of this system, but nature doesn't care. As long as immature teenagers aren't raising babies, it is happy.
If you want to clear your acne, you need to beat this system that nature hasn't even perfected (some babies and elderly people get acne when procreating isn't even a concern for them). I know it would be nice to be able to get rid of acne naturally, but I don't think nature wants it to be that way for us. And what about people who live extremely healthy/natural lifestyles yet have severe acne?I don't think it plays a role in having clear skin.
If you go on YouTube, you'll see tons of videos with titles like "How I CURED my ACNE NATURALLY Overnight." The video may as well be titled "All I care about is views." First of all, these people have clear skin to begin, and they just attribute it to whatever they mention in the video. The videos have high numbers of likes. Don't be fooled. It's not because their "treatment" works. It's because the person in the video is attractive/popular. They seem to have very few life-issues, and they want to feel normal by having problemslike the rest of us. They tell you to apply honey or whatever to your face, right. Some of these videos get millions of views, mainly all likes. But please consider the audience: popular person in video = many likes, and that's all there is to it. Neither the person in the video nor the viewers actually suffer from the disease. Honey may be beneficial for skin in general, but for acne? If clearing your skin were as simple as applying honey/sugar/lemon etc. to your face, nobody would have it. Therefore Acne.org wouldn't even exist. Using medication isn't natural (but that's why it works).Nature doesn't want you to clear your skin.
Benzoyl peroxide (or whatever I decide to use) may not be the healthiest thingfor my skin, but I take that over the lifelong damage that acne can cause to it and to my mind.
Well
Thats why I'm on accutane.
Hope this gets rid of my acne once and for all. I don't even have it bad, it's just made me so self conscious and obsessive about it that I don't want to see a single pimple ever again. However I also like to think of this as a lesson, as I used to take life for granted and sometimes laugh at people with imperfections they couldn't control. Now I know what it feels like, and I'll never be the same again.
@Control Panel, that's exactly how I think. I don't dare step into the accutane journey because of its adverse effects on health.
My ultimate (and can be the last) weapon to fight with acne is to adopt an extremely healthy lifestyle. I know it is hard but it is natural and has many long-term benefits. But what is your definition of an extremely healthy lifestyle? eat many vegetables as possible, organic recommended, avoid too much red meat, eliminate gluten & dairy product, exercise regularly, not stay up late (after 11,12 PM)? I see many fitness, healthy diet cookbook author on Amazon tend to have clear skin. Maybe they are lucky to have good genes or clear skin is a by-product of a healthy lifestyle.
