Hey there community, this is the worst my acne has been in awhile and I'd like to say that it's making me feel down, but at this point, it really isn't because I've had worse. I know it's not the most attractive thing to see when walking down the street, but it has become such a part of me that I accept it instead of trying to fight a battle that I know I won't win anytime soon. My acne is hereditary and my dad (who I got it from) had it much worse than I do. My older siblings also had acne, but it went away after their teens. I hope mine will as well, but I'm not sure. Please help me determine what I should do to make my situation a little bit better. Love. image.jpeg

Hey MusicGirl, glad to hear you're remaining fairly positive about your current situation. You do seem to have a pretty mild case going on there so hopefully some topical treatments will help keep that at bay for you. I would also hope for you that your mild acne will go away in time as it did for your siblings. I think there's a good chance of that 🙂
Keep enjoying your music!

Hi Music Girl! Have you started the acne regimen? When I was in my mid-20s I had much worse cystic acne (yours looks pretty mild) and the regimen has kept me clear since. I'm 41 now! Please let me know if you have any questions and I'd be happy to help.

It's so great that you're positive about this. If I could go back to when I was your age, I'd tell myself a few things that probably would have prevented my acne from going from bad to the mess of indented scars that I have now. Number one would be, change the diet. I swear, my skin would be much improved if I had eaten healthier and drank more water back then. Number two, exercise. Number three, invest in a really good skin care regimen and avoid makeup that's bad for skin. Number four, get a good amount of sleep.

I hope one or two of my suggestions will help you. Good luck!

Thanks for responding! I haven't done the regimen from this site, but I have a pretty developed routine at home that just includes a basic face wash, a toner, and a moisturizer/sunscreen mixture. I make sure that all of my products are non-comedogenic, but sometimes that doesn't always help. 😛 Thank you for being so open and willing to help. I'm very glad you've found your way to clear skin, woo-hoo!

Thank you so much for replying! I wasn't sure if anybody would. I hope time is the biggest game changer, but I will continue to find small treatments that might help out along the way. I will definitely keep enjoying music. :)

Thank you for the response! I think what's helping me the most is learning about stories like yours and realizing that I'm not alone. I think you're right about the diet and water. I've been increasing my water intake the last 6 months or so and I do think it's helping. Exercise is always a good option. (: As far as skin care regimens and makeup go, I am very picky and careful when choosing so I hope that's not what's doing it. Sleep is a huge problem for me because I'm an insomniac, but I'm always looking for new ways to be more rested or stress-free. Thank you for your tips, I'm sure they will be extremely useful!
