Hey all, I recently went to the dermatologist for my skin. It isn't the worst (not cystic or anything), it's just a little bit of hormonal acne.

She gave me these two little tubes of Epiduo gels with Adapelene and Benzoyl Peroxide (.1% and 2.5%). I am supposed to use it with any face wash and apply anywhere. Has anybody on here used this? Did it help with your acne? How fast?

She also prescribed me Minocycline 100mg once a day. I might not be able to take it because I don't have all my adult teeth (I'm 14 and I have my baby molers still). I also heard it stains teeth?

So if I can't get on Mino will using the Epiduo gel and face wash still help me a lot?
And if I can get on Mino, will taking it, using the Epiduo gel, and face wash help me or should I stay away from Minocycline? THANKS

Hey, epiduo is actually really good for acne. It's exfoliating plus antimicrobial. You can still use epiduo without an antibiotic, the antibiotic is general given to minimise the effects of the "initial breakout" which youwill probably experience.

Have you started using it? I would start very slowly at first, every 3rd evening for the first 2 weeks and wait half an hour for your face to dry before applying. I would also use it over your full face.

Typical Derm not giving good directions when prescribing meds. I agree with what MissSac said but I would also add you may want to test it out by using it only on a part of your face (top left side of forehead or whatever) for a month to see what happens because retinoids are notorious for causing a negative reaction in some people. You will also hear some people say things have to get worse before they get better but I do not buy into that so if things really do get worse for you don't keep going thinking it will eventually get better because there is no guarantee that will happen.
