Hello everyone who is here! The main thing I want to talk about isn't about me, but more about my older brother.

My older brother alex has been suffering from acne since he was around 14.(hes 18 now) it started off as mild acne, but after around a year it suddenly escalated and it became very severe. He has very large, inflamed acne and cysts as well as blackheads that are actually on the pimple itself! There is also scarring where his pimples which have healed and left A PATCH of dark scars along his jaw area. Not only does he have acne on his face, he also has severe acne on his chest and back. It has also left scarring.

His acne has not healed but there are already severe scarring. I'm not very sure what is the cause of his acne but I think that it has something to do with genetics (mom had acne in her 20s no scarring tho) and his diet because he likes fried food. He went to the dermatologist once last year and went on prescription for 2 months, but because it was expensive my parents could not afford to keep sending him to the dermatologist.

He acts as if he is fine but I know that his confidence is affected because he became much more withdrawn and quiet. My heart breaks whenever I see his acne and I know that it is hard for him. Is there anything that he can do? Pls help!

It's very sweet of u to care so much for your older brother I'm the oldest in my family and I know my brothers would never even try to support me. They hate me very much. I have very bad acne same as your brother. All along my jaw and neck and also on my shoulders back and chest. I'm going on accutane in a month or so. I suggest thst he do the same if he hasn't already. And make sure he goes through with the whole treatment. Hope this helps and make sure he knows he is not alone. Good luck.

You mention he eats a lot of fried foods. From what I have been reading lately the oils that a lot of fast foods are fried in are high in omega 6, which is very inflammatory.
A lot of acne is caused by inflammation in the body.
If he's not willing to eliminate or cut back on these foods, I'd suggest he at least take omega 3 with each meal, not a tiny amount either. Like a few of the big horse pills or teaspoons of liquid. Omega 3 helps balance out omega 6.
Also, cerave face wash and Stridex in the red box.
If you read the Amazon reviews on Stridex in the red box you'll see it works for a lot of ppl who have tried everything.
Good luck 😉
