Hello!!!
I've decided to join this forum because I'm currently suffering from acne & I need to get rid of it
My mom has told me that underneath I have VERY good skin but whenever she sees how bad it is, she's completely shocked!
First off, I first started getting acne sometime in my teens(don't know the exact age) & at the time it was never really that bad...
I was normally getting it on my forehead & under my eyes near my nose since the type of skin that I have is very OILY skin.
Then after a while or so, I when I moved into my mom's back in 2007 my acne wasn't exactly the best still.
So she put me on Proactiv Solution. I used it 2x a day, after about a week my skin started clearing up quite well.
Then about several years or so later, my skin for WHATEVER reason decided to get worse!! I do have a bit of a habit of
eating quite a bit of junk food like sodas, candy, milk chocolate, potato chips, things of that nature which are considered very unhealthy, because whenever I eat too much, I break out.
Unfortunately I no longer use the Proactiv Solution since it just literally makes my face worse & doesn't work like it used to, even if I kept using it. I've also tried X-Out(the teenage version of Proactiv)(though I'm in my late 20s now) & even that doesn't seem to do any good either.
I have to say it is hard for me to stop eating so much junk even though I'm TRYING to break the habit & trying to start eating healthy meaning more salads, more vegetables, fruit smoothies from time to time, plus drinking more water.
It just seems like my face hasn't healed whatsoever at this point & it looks like I may have to go to a dermatologist to get this issue fixed!!
I've also read on this forum about possible vitamin deficiencies as well...I unfortunately don't really get any vitamins/supplements at all at this time.
But in the meantime, is there anything I can honestly do or I should've said (What should I do) to get my skin clear & in better shape ASAP?? Need Help! I sometimes feel like crying & I look ugly after seeing how horrible my skin looks now
Here's a photo of how my skin looks as of this moment(from the side). It was never like that til more recently, though I don't know how recent.

I know acne of any kind is hard to live with but honestly your skin doesnt look too bad and i dont think you're ugly
I get spots mainly on my chin but i also get this awful redness all over the rest of my face. Yes i can see a couple of blemishes but the majority of your skin looks normal, not red or inflammed. I dont know if this will help you feel better or not - hope it does
I dont have a cure for acne but i would suggest work on your diet a bit more. I find eliminating sugar and junk food really helps. But also keep grain intake low. Focus more on salads, vege and protein (meats etc).
You might want to try supplements if you havent already done so. Different things help different people, there's no one miracle cure. Supplements i like are fish oil (omega 3 is anti inflammatory) and vit D. Zinc and vit A may also help. You have to experiment a bit to find what works for you.

Well thank you...I just feel ugly when a breakout comes along, and sometimes I tend to get a breakout or two along my chin area especially during that 'time of the month' which isn't so great either but yes
I've been trying to eat salads as much as possible. It seems like my family & I don't incorporate ALOT of vegetables enough when it comes to eating but I will definitely try that more
And yes I've read so much about vitamin supplements, of course I'll probably have to get a blood test to see what I may be deficient in & how much I should take as well....Much appreciated =)

I have seen cases worse but this young lady's condition looks fine. Do not be stressed out the moment you see something tiny pops up from your skin. It will self manifest if you keep worrying about it. It could be other aspects like pressure from school/work/relationship/etc that cause it. Keep calm and relax.
And it's also extremely hard to notice but I do have some scarring above it from when I had previous pimples & acne
so I wanted to ask is there also anything I can try to help get rid of scarring??
