Hello all! I have a few questions regarding my acne & skin. Any advice/comments would be great!

1.) Would you consider my acne moderate or severe (which I don't think it's quite there yet.)

2.) Do I have PIH on my cheeks? They're always red and I honestly don't know if it's acne or scarring. There aren't any bumps really, only a couple, so I'm not sure.

3.) Should I go on the acne.org regimen or will it be okay after a few months or so? My acne wasn't that bad until I started high school last year.

Just in case this is important or if you're wondering:

Age: 15

My current routine:

AM:

  • Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser
  • Neutrogena Oil Free Sensitive Skin Moisturizer (if not going outside/sunny) or Olay Complete SPF 15 Moisturizer for Combination/Oily Skin (if going outside/sunny)

PM:

  • Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser
  • Oatmeal/Yogurt Face Mask (15/20 minute leave on)
  • Neutrogena Oil Free Sensitive Skin Moisturizer

(& yes, I know my routine isn't that great so you can leave tips/favorite products for that as well, please.)

Thanks!post-484476-0-39548300-1439396598.jpg

Hmm, it looks to me that your acne is leaning towards more of the moderate side...

I know this doesnt answer your question, but have you ever thought about doing the caveman method / water only ? If you don't know what that is, pleaseee search it up. It was the only thing that cured my SEVERE acne when i was around your age. If nothing else is working for you, i really reccomend you try this out!

Thank you for the suggestion! I'll look into it and see if I would want to do that.

Your face is getting to the border of severe. I have some golden tips I want to share with you that worked for me. I struggled with acne for about 2-3 years now and I just now have found the solution. First mistake you're making is the products don't work for you. It doesn't seem like its controlling your acne, it seems like it's irritating it. You want to go gentle when you cleanse and moisturize your face. My favorite line right now is bioelements. I use their sensitive skin cleanser which doesn't dry out my skin at all! It's great. Next step is to eat healthy! Dermatologist say diet is not linked to acne when it is with some people! Some people are gluten sensitive or even allergic to some proccessed foods! It results to acne as a sign of gut irritation. You don't know what they put in your food now a days!

1. Cut out processed foods

2. Don't overload on carbs ( carbs shown to boost sugar insulin which can cause inflammation)

3. Vegetables vegetables vegetables. Vegetables can prevent acne. They're so loaded with vitamins that can help fight acne. the vegetables that I eat are broccoli, califlower, spinach, onions, and carrots. These vegetables are high in vitamins you have to eat them for your overall health!

4. Fruits!!!!! Peaches, mangos, and red grapes. They are great for fighting acne especially red grapes. They have antioxidants which can help clear toxins in your body.

5. Water

Water is what the skin needs to operate smoothly. It's our fuel its what keeps us alive! You need 8 cups a day! It will clear toxins and flush them!

6. Stay away from oats, wheat, bread grains whatever! Gluten is poison!

what you intake is important trust me. Ever since I followed these steps my acne has went down 90%! Trust me on this especially if you have adult acne, you're not young anymore, your motabilsm can't keep up with your horrible diet anymore it's time to switch it up! You're not getting younger.

As for you goodluck! It's hard habit to start doing but it's totally worth it!

Oh yeah watch out for sweets! They can really take a toll on your skins
