So I'm coming to the realization that I'm never going to have that ideal smooth skin we all strive for lol. Acne is a problem I've dealt with since I was 13 or so. More then half of my life. It's affected every single aspect of my life including my marriage. In my eyes it's the worst case of acne I've seen but I guess that's how we all feel about ourselves. I get breakouts on my face chest and back. I've been fortunate that it's been relatively minor for the most part on my face and chest. For my back though.....not so fortunate lol. Scarring breakouts and hyperpigmentation that never seems to heal. It's frustrating but at the same time I'm starting to finally accept it in a sense and mentally I'm starting to get in a better space because damn there have been some really dark days mentally in the past for me.

Anyway enough of me rambling. I would love to stay away from medications but I'm not sure if that's an option now. Previously on this site I was recommended sea salt baths and I'll admit that I wasn't consistent with them. Desperate for some insight as to what to do in regards to the scarring breakouts and hyperpigmentation. Thanks In advance

Sorry if the pic and lighting quality is poor.

Hey dont worry! You acne is not bad it looks even mild. Its just our perception we always see things worse.

But even still its not easy to deal with it I know it.

I dont think you need to take a strong medication.

Have you tried to put benzol peroxyde? I use it in my back not on my face cuz its too strong for me unfourtenaly and now my back its clear. You should try it :)

I've tried it in the past and didn't notice much change in either direction. Didn't make it worse or better. Mayne I didn't stick with it long enough

Men often get acne on the face and back. Some still get it in their 40s and 50s.

Breakouts of back acne often happen in hot weather or after exercising. Back acne is harder to control than acne on the face. (At least there are fewer people who can see acne on your back.)

Suggest to keep your skin clean. Many cleansers are available. Avoid those with beads in them as they can irritate your skin.

Wash/Bathe twice a day helps.

When showering, use a cleansing brush with an extension to wash hard-to-reach areas on your back.

As suggested by Porswis, products containing benzoyl peroxide can help control acne on your back.

Some men use a drug called isotretinoin. Check with your doctor.

Otherwise expensive treatments would be the laser skin treatment or a light therapy combined with vacuum therapy.

Thanks for the responses...is there anything that will help with the scarring?

I just absolutely hate this and it seems like it's getting worse. I just can't seem to understand why it's do localized on my back and so mild everywhere else.... I'm willing to do anything at this point.

I'm worried about taking a path that would involve heavy expenses and any drug that might make the condition worse.

pranyama aint a drug and would cost you nothing. you could just google up videos on "kapalbhati pranayama","anulom vilom pranayama" and learn from there.

pranyama is just a name for a set of breahing exercises.

but the deal is it requires discipline. Just like a physical workout would.

Is there any more natural methods that would be effective to heal the marks faster? I've always had extremely slow recovery time for pimples and the marks left after. How effective are dead sea salt baths? Is there any vitamin regimen that would help.and any foods to stay away from ? I can't understand how people.heal so fast. It's so weird that my face seems to heal pretty fast from.break outs and so on but my back is a complete other story.

I read some testimonies talking about a serum/cleanser that removed ezcema, age spots, acne marks. Not sure if you want to try. Or you may have heard about it but gave it a miss. My wife tried for a week. Not that she has acne but to remove her lines under her neck (she's 48 and being a woman). It's almost gone. It works at cell level, by nourishing with vitamins and anti-oxidants, clearing old dead skin, hydrates the skin... using derivatives from adult stem cells, something like that. You can read from here, http://tinyurl.com/YESfactor. Hope it helps!

Thanks. I'm going to give it a shot and check it out. one of the scariest things about acne is trying new treatments because of the fear of being made worse....honestly though the recovery time and awful healing period is what bothers me the most...my body has just never recovered well from acne scars and so on.

I've consulted a practitioner. I understand from her what the series does is:

- the cleanser: deep pore cleansing to purge out the toxins

- the serum: rejuvenate and repair

- moisturising complex: protect the new young cells from destruction such as UV rays

Trust this further info helps.

Cheers.
