I wanted to share my cure for deep cystic acne I've been struggling with for 30 years. 50 y/o WM. Tried all the usual OTC's. Took doxycycline for years, thought it helped, but not really.
I'm talking about the deep, painful acne that you can feel brewing about an inch below the surface, takiing forever to come to the top, feeling huge and totally noticable, but then there is nothing but oil after your face blows up... the worst!!
Short and simple, here goes: My mindset was wrong. Meaning, I had always thought it was a matter of finding the ONE product that would work. About six months ago, I picked up somewhere that it took a VARIETY of products for control. THIS IS THE KEY! A variety, not one single product.
Products: Garnier Clean + Balancing Daily Exfoliator, OXY Rapid Treatment Sensitive Skin 5%, Olay Pro X Advanced Cleaning system, Stridex Daily Care Acne Pads with Salicylic Acid, Maximum Strength, Clindamycn (optional)
My daily regimen is nothing fancy. After taking a shower, I exfoliate each night before bed, using the Olay brush and alternate with the Garnier and the OXY Rapid Treatment every other day. In the morning before leaving, I swipe a Stridex pad across my face.
Thats it! I keep a jar of the pads at work and swipe my face occasionally if I get overly sweaty, and I take the Stridex pads with me camping, etc.
For me, I think the key is to keep some form of medicine on the skin at all times, rotating products.
This has really worked for me, with no side effects at all, other than clear skin. I exercise a lot & sweat, and I do eat right and drink a gallon of water daily but could not stop the deep acne. This has really done it.
This will be my only post. After 30 years, this finally worked and I had to share, all OTC with nothing fancy, hazardous or difficult. Please reply let me know if this works for you. Best of luck!
