I have moderate acne on my back and chest and face which is annoying but not too bad however there is one part of my face next to my mouth which is this permanently discoloured , most days it is just a brown patch like in the second and third picture, other days it looks really red (the 1st and 4th pic) and there are pimples on top of it. Everywhere else on my body or face i get a pimple then it goes and that part of the skin looks normal afterwards but this part is pemanently like this. Does anyone know what it is ? Is it some sort of skin condition?

Please help it is making me depressed as it really stands out . post-473720-0-38972400-1434202930_thumb.post-473720-0-32708700-1434202953_thumb.post-473720-0-51412700-1434202974_thumb.

Try exfiating masks. Also oil free moisturizers will calm your skin down. It looks sorta like hyper pigmentation. I've had that before.

Hyperpigmentation, your pictures are a little unclear. Pure Aloe Vera gel helps lighten dark spots =)

Aloevera is a great idea! Why didn't I think of that! They have aloe Vera masks too which do wonders. Might be something worth checking out

so is this just hyperpigmentation and I should treat it with products designed for hyperpigmentation?

I wasnt sure because a lot of photos ive seen of hyperpigmentation look different to what i have which is more of a brown 'patch' rather than lots of individual scars

Honestly it's hardly noticeable. Just aloe Vera and oil free moisturizer will speed up the process. No need to fret over it. It will go away sooner or later. You could try it though. Vitamin e lotion works great too
