So in my country the summer has just started. This is the first week when the temperature reached more than 25C (which is 77F), I'm taking out my sunscreen etc. It's my first summer with acne - last year I was this carefree girl with flawless, dry skin. I don't know how to take care of acne skin during the summer period. Is sun actually good or bad for acne? I mean, is your skin usually better or worse during the summer? Just saying that I'm using SPF filters and I'm not tanning or spending too much time exposed to the sun.
Also, yesterday I noticed that after spending the whole day outside I came home with a few pimples on my back. I don't have back acne, just an occasional spot or two, and yesterday I got around four or five of them, all medium-sized and very red (no whiteheads). I also got two painful red spots on my bottom/upper thighs (it doesn't look like pimples, maybe it's folliculitis or something). Can it be because of the heat and sweat? What can I do to prevent it? Can tight clothes from synthetic materials be the problem?
Getting some sun seems to be good for acne, as long as you don't overdo it. Too much sun just makes everything more red and irritated, esp if you're using anti-acne products. Sweat itself probably isn't a problem but if there's friction from clothing or wiping sweat from your face, I think it can exacerbate acne.
