What Is This On My Face?

Hi, I have had these tiny skin coloured bumps all over my face for 2 months. I had a breakout of spots like this after I took an MSM supplement for a few days and it has got worse. These are different to my normal spots and haven't responded to any acne treatment that works on my normal spots. These bumps don't really disappear and I don't notice new ones come up, they have just been there like this for a long time.

I though it could be folliculitis and I was given antibiotics by the doctor at first and then an oral anti-fungal but none of it helped.

I have attached some photos.

I was wondering what people think these are. Could they be closed comedones?

Any help is appreciated!

Hi - those are macrocomedones, white heads to be specific.

Thanks for the reply! How would you recommend I treat it? Also, is it possible that this was caused by an allergic reaction to the MSM supplement?

Any other opinions? or are these definitely some type of comedones?

Thanks

Do you use any topicals now? For those surface, fine ones, benzol peroxide should work well.

I used to use benzoyl peroxide but I stopped a few months ago. A few days ago I started using an AHA (glycolic acid 3%) once a day.

Do you think I will get clear skin using an AHA and benzoyl peroxide? or is it best for me to go to a dermatologist?

I looked at the photos again and the small bumps that don't even go red look just like I had. I am almost at three months of Tactupump (I'm in Canada, so depending on where you are... It has different names)(which is bp and a retinoid)), morning and night, and 100mg spironolactone. And I'm clear now.

I'm 38 and had great skin from 25-37. Then whamo!

My derm took one look at me and said "adult acne." Which is hormonal. She said its got nothing to do with pillow cases (I still change mine every other day though! haha. Acne sufferers can tend to go for overkill!)

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?

I'm 17. Happy to hear that you're clear now!

Hi

Just wanted to follow up and see where things are at.

Have you seen a doctor or begun any type of treatment?
