I am not much on the forum anymore these days, but I thought I should share the positive experiences I have had with a treatment. I was absolutely desperate because my acne was a side effect of medication that I could not do without. The only thing that kept me kind of clear was 2.5% BP panoxyl which was discontinued at the time (the 10% didn't do the job as well and irritated my skin) on top of that I became allergic to BP... My acne was severe enough to get accutane but I couldn't take it because of drug interactions etc.

I cleared up severe cystic adult acne using De La Cruz Sulfur Ointment (10%) and leaving a thin layer under my moisturizer in the morning and evening. So I basically use it the way Dan uses BP but in a much smaller amount. The moisturizer I use on top is Simple Protecting Light Moisturizer SPF 15. It seemed the only SPF that didn't break me out and that didn't turn my face red. Now I do experience shedding of the skin in the shower, but I always had that with BP as well. As far as I am concerned this is working just as well. I am practically entirely clear now...

That's just what's worked for me. Thought I should share it in case it might help anyone else! You never know! I wish everyone the best of luck in dealing with this!
