Rosehip Oil For Active Acne

Hi Everyone,

I have been recently become very interested in Rosehip oil due to some glowing reviews and I have been starting to see wrinkles appear! My acne is currently mild/moderate (4-5 active spots, mostly small).

It seems that some people do not recommend using rosehip oil with active acne as it can be "too stimulating". Interestingly enough, the vitamin A content of rosehip oil has led some people to compare it to retin-a. (removed).

So this leads me to my hypothesis/question: Could the people claiming that rosehip oil as too stimulating/not ideal for acne simply be confused with the skins initial reaction to vitamin A, which is commonly experienced with other retinoids?

I was concerned about this as well. I mean, I'm oily, why should I add more oil? Honestly, I think it makes my skin produce less oil. It does soak in fast, and you don't have to saturate your skin with it. I have used it (do a patch test first for a few days, just to be on the safe side). I actually think it helps blemishes. You could try it on one and see if that helps.

I have "dry skin breakouts" on my back, and this has not caused any more pimples. In fact, there are less and my skin is starting to be somewhat moisturized.

I don't know about the vitamin A, but all I know is if that is true, it won't peel skin like retin A which would be nice.
