Starting tonight I will not wash my face with anything. Soap, cleansers, even water.

And use no moisturizer, toner, nothing.

I have damaged my skin from soaps, retinoids, acids, lotions, and I need to let it heal.

I have many clogged pores and overall pretty dehydrated skin showing fine lines and wrinkles, as well as red marks, and blackheads.

I will also try to eat healthy, fruits, vegetables, water, very little meat/dairy/breads.

I also will not jerk off, or take any drugs.

I will exercise everyday as well.

I'd like to know if anyones had success with a no wash regimen, I've heard mixed reviews.

Well.. I wash my face with a cleanser every 3 days, but I put on two products daily. One being sunscreen, and the other being a repair cream.

Honestly, what helped me clear my skin is eating very clean and hitting the gym almost daily.

I guess I can't say if the "caveman regimen" works or not since I haven't actually done it, just something close, but good luck!

Hi there,

I am yet to clear my own acne so I wouldn't call myself an expert,

I hadn't heard of the "Caveman Regimen" until you gave it that name, but I tried something similar a while back just as an idea of my own:

I didn't use anything on my face (apart from water on my face in the shower) and I carried on eating as healthy as possible (I was already doing this to see if it would help) and was exercising regularly.

I don't want to discourage you because it maybe works for some people, but my skin was horrific after a week of not using anything and I immediately started doing everything I had been doing before. It made me really quite upset how quickly my skin declined and it did improve after a while, but my experience with the "caveman regimen" was not one I wish to ever have again.

I do think you should try it if you are not getting results from anything else. And I am interested to see if it works for you!

Good luck!

Yeah it was a foolish idea. Nothing wrong with washing with soap and shaving, keeping clean is important.

I did this for a week....like recently. Very recently, like this past week actually. I noticed good things. My red marks are a lot lighter. My skin didn't get oily at all (I am normally a greaseball) However I got flaky and couldn't take it, so used one of my son's soft baby wash rags today and used bottled water to very very lightly exfoliate. I think from now on I am going to wash my face at the very most once a day (probably at night) with bottled water (no cleanser), maybe every other day, and avoid any kind of topicals. Trying to find a regimen to help my very stubborn clogged pores, and my skin is also screwed from using harsh products. I am also taking MSM powder daily and systemic enzymes (MSM for skin health in general, enzymes for scars and inflammation) I started all this recently so we will see how it goes. I wish you luck! Wish me luck toooo

Nevermind, just saw you aren't doing it anymore xD Though I have seen people have good results with just washing with water (preferably purified and not tap)

I find that no wash regimens work very well for me!
Get rid of dryness and oiliness for my skin.

It is when I see new pimples that i start getting obsessive about my face and end up washing it a couple times a day and totally regret it afterwards, because in the end I find that washing doesn't help much, and even makes my skin worse because it strips it of its natural oils :(

Exfoliation on the other hand is key!
