Possibly An Interesting Find

Hello. I usually don't post on here much but I kind of found something interesting about my own skin and it's connection with "acne"..

**This will probably be a wall of text..

So just to give a little background of myself.. Prior to turning 18, I never had a single pimple in my life. It was only after 18 did I start getting pimples and bumps on my skin which would get inflamed, and eventually cause a bit of pain. I'm 22 now and it's been quite a painful road.. Mainly because at times, this skin issue I was having didn't always feel like it was just acne.. It felt much more like an allergic reaction more than anything.

Anyways, this post isn't about my background really. If anyone's interested in that, I can go more in depth on it maybe on a separate post.

To put it simply, I'm about 99% sure that my skin troubles are caused primarily by which food I consume. Strange thing is, I never EVER had any skin problems when it came to food because like I said, prior to 18, I was still in high school, middle school, etc. A student at that age typically does NOT eat healthy lol or at least I didn't. I ate whatever I wanted all the time and mainly junk food because well, I never had a job at that age.

Now, I bring this up because even if I had eaten terribly in the past.. I didn't eat like that for all meals. If I think back on it now, I mainly starved or didn't eat most of the time because I was either busy hanging out or doing other things where I would eat not so frequently. I'm thinking such balance was possibly present back then which enabled me to have good skin with no breakouts. It's just theory of course.. Who knows, I might be totally off on this.

Back to my present self, I've cut out bread, pasta, wheat, anything with gluten in it entirely for now. I still eat rice as a form of carbs though. Not very shockingly, my skin actually has cleared up a bit. I don't get new bumps or pimples as much as I used to and I can finally touch my skin and not feel so many bumps (sometimes none on a lucky day).

But, I want to get into something that happened while I was having lunch today. My meal was grilled chicken with some rice and some soup that consisted of more rice, carrots, and whatnot. I have no idea how it's made and could've consisted of something I'm "allergic" to but for whatever reason.. I felt my skin itch. And I knew right then and there that I might possibly get a bump. Coincidentally I was getting quite full anyway so I was going to stop eating regardless.. Couple minutes later, I indeed get a bump that can't really be seen because it's not inflamed or anything. It's just a bump I myself feel and if I were to put my fingers over it, there is a bump. Fast forward about 5 hours later, this bump is almost gone. It felt quite big when I first felt it during lunch but now.. I barely feel it. And even if I feel it now, I know it will go away quickly. I'm going to skip dinner and see what happens the next day.

So my conclusion is maybe the type of carb or whatever I eat isn't ALWAYS the problem.. I'm thinking of a possibility where if I were to 1) intake a somewhat "heavy" meal because of all the grease or oil that's used, I can have a breakout and/or 2) I'm eating more than I should. Meaning, past the point where I'm "satisfied", not "full".

It's something for maybe you guys to think about.. Because I'm sure it's food that's causing it for me personally so I will continue to monitor. Any questions or extra details any one may have, I will do my best to answer.

And btw, I love exercising and think it helps quite a bit with keeping your skin looking fresh and clean. If I don't make it to the gym one day, I at least do some stretching in my free time to get blood flowing and a light pump with my heart.

Np.

Yeah junk food is terrible but for me personally, I think it's mainly gluten that's causing most of the outbreaks.

Hmm.. Vegetable oil? Think you can go a bit more in depth? It's a possibility since I have no idea what restaurants use to cook their food..
