Freshman Football Affecting Acne?

I'm a 14 year old guy, I'm going into high school and I'm trying to decide if I'm doing football this year. A little background info about me:

I started to get mild acne when I was 13, and nothing would help. But about 8 months ago I started working out, drinking lots of water, gentle soap once a day, and now my face is almost clear. (I still have a little bacne but that's from working out and sweating.)

So I'm going into 9th grade, and a lot of my friends are doing football, and keep telling me to do it. This will be my first year doing it, and I want to do it to become more popular, get better so later on ill be fairly good, and not disappoint my friends. The main thing I'm worried about is wearing the helmets. I don't want to make my acne start coming back. I'd rather just skip out on it then have bad acne tbh.

So anybody out there who's done football can you tell me if the helmet had too big of an effect on your face? Thanks

What a tough decision to make. I hope if you decide not to play, for vanity's sake- because we all make social compromises for vanity when we have acne- that there's a fair trade with another sport, club or activity (but not violin, apparently!)

BodyBuildingForums seems to have the most to say on this topic.

Thanks for the fast reply. I'm just thinking that if I do end up not doing football, I will regret it later on when I'm a junior/senior. Eh I've got a few more days before football starts, I guess I have a little time to decide :/

If any members on here have done football with acne and told me their experiences, I'd greatly appreciate it.
