Hey guys,
I have acne on my face and chest. Chest has been clearing up a lot more recently due to lemon juice. The acne on my face is mainly just below my mouth on the right and left side (in these two regions that have always been a problem), other pimples on chin, jaw region. Skin pretty much completely clear on rest of face (even if a breakout, very small, little redness, gone quickly). I've dealt with this acne for 1-2 years. I recently just started using apple cider vinegar on my face and leaving on overnight. Seems to be helping so far so going to continue with that.
Picture isn't the best, doesn't accuratley show redness, but shows main areas dealing with.
I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on what else I should be doing. I eat very well (grassfed meat, wild salmon, nuts, no dairy, pretty much no grains, lots of greens, fruit, consume lots of water, drink green tea and ACV). Also taking Chromium, Selenium, Zinc, Alpha Lipoic Acid, and Saw Palmetto supplements daily.
Right now, my usual routine is: Wake up, eat some light fruit (blueberries, grapes, maybe a few pumpkin seeds, almonds). Go to the gym. Shower (wash with Neutrogena acne prone skin soap bar, moisturize with Cetaphil for sensitive skin). Eat cage free omega 3 eggs. Eat an organic green salad (w/ avacado, apples, few walnuts, topped with extra virgin olive oil and fresh lemon juice). Go to work. Eat dinner (varies). Take supplements. Before sleeping (wash face with Dove unscented bar, apply ACV toner that is diluted w/ water.)
So any critiques or help with my scenario/advice on fading red marks would be greatly appreciated! Also wondering what most people wash with when washing their face?
Thank You
Cetaphil anti-bacterial bar soap is the best I've found. Also I'd avoid using moisturizer on my chin area. You don't want to clog the pores if you already have oily skin in that area. If the chin acne is still persistent, I'd see a dermatologist to get a topical acne medication like epiduo, ziana, or duac. (Think that's the correct spelling)
Also, be sure to use a clean pillowcase on your pillow and clean towels. Best of luck!

Thanks, just got that Cetaphil bar and am trying not moisturizing my chin area/ using ACV after I shower instead, as well as before I go to sleep. So do you think I should just use the Cetaphil bar to wash before applying the ACV and not use the Dove bar at all?
Just a hint, be sure that you don't use scorching hot water to wash your face. use a little bit under warm temp. Blood rushes to the vessels causing it to PUSS out or swell and throb. Plus looks like you're starting to get facial hair so thats another factor. BUT I do agree cetaphil is the bomb when it comes to this. I use the foam wash and the spectrum lotion. DON'T rub your chin either, it used to be a habit of mine. Just some advice and I hope I helped a little. It'll clear up no prob.
I would try just using the cetaphil and see how that works for you. If your skin is getting too dry with this new regime, then I'd switch back to the Dove once a day. Its a very gentle cleansing soap for when you're experiencing irritation. But most dermatologists swear by cetaphil so I'd definitely give it a chance to clear up your skin.
