Should i use an acne cleanser or a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil? My acne cleanser has salicyclic acid in it, & i feel like it gives me whiteheads.

I used to use an acne cleanser but it was making my skin too dry, especially around my eyes, but now I use a gentle non-soap cleanser. Salicylic acid also gives me white heads for some reason. I've been this this garnier smoothing cream cleanser http://www.garnierusa.com/Products/SkinCare/CleanPlus/Dry-Skin/Clean-Plus-Smoothing-Cream-Cleanser.aspx

stick with a gentle cleanser because theres no point in acne cleanser they only stay on the face for like 30 sec and the % of acid in them are too weak to even do anything

I switched to a gentle cleanser (Spectro) after using a Neutrogena salicylic acid cleanser for years and I think it's helped calm my skin a lot! I think after years of messing with our skin it just can't take the harshness anymore :/
