I had a severe breakout 6 months ago after having clear skin since 19 (24 now). No idea the cause, but its devastated my social and work life along with any and all self esteem.
The doc prescribed Mino (100mg twice daily), but after reading I decided it wasn't worth the risks. That was 4 months ago and they sit untouched.
Now, I went and cut dairy 4 months ago, and started to drink apple cider vinegar all while avoiding sugar. This seemed to help and I thought I was getting better.
That brings us to the last few weeks, I'm starting the breakout again and I have no idea why.
I am most likely going to man up and take 100mg of Mino at night starting today to see how it effects me. Does anyone here have insight as to the safety or risks with this medicine? It seems to be insanely popular, so the negative reviews I'm seeing are probably the vocal minority.
Could someone look at the pics below and tell me if this looks like acne or possibly a different infected that resembles acne? I've had this rash on my scalp for the last few years that consists of pustules filled with pus, and i'm wondering if I am just transferring that infection onto my face via touch?

I have heard of or used Mino. I would suggest going with whatever the doc prescribed. Once you try that, then you'll see if it works for you. I know I've been prescribed so many but none have really worked. I think our skin reacts differently to various acne treatments out there. If you do use Mino, please post updates so I can look more into it. Good luck
