Persistent Cyst For Over A Year

Hi

I have a lump type thing on my left side cheek. I have been to two dermatologists and each say that it has to be extracted by subcision (surgery) or injected. I don't want to do either because they will leave a scar. THey say it could last for a very long time and it has already been a year and counting. It is a hard lump that is painless. it has been injected by cortisone shots a year ago but to no avail.
However it has been intact for over a year, still red and never changing.
it could be either a sebaceous cyst, a persistent and never-affected pimple, or scar tissue that is raised. my derm tried to extract pus from it today and only a very little came out. i am confused about what it is.
I need help to get rid of it. it is very noticeable and red and nothing affects it. I have tried tazorac (strongest prescription topical), aczone, acanya, minocycline, doxycycline, vitamin a, b5, c, d, d3, e, ACV, zinc pills, lemon juice, Epsom salt, drawing salve, tea tree oil, sunlight/no sunlight, honey, egg mask, yogurt mask, castor oil, bio oil, aloe vera, gunilla of sweden, baking soda, aztec clay, hot compress, ice, etc.
any suggestion?
Danke.

Zinc oxide powder mixed into a paste with any oil you want. A dab of tretinoin on just that spot daily for a few months in combination with zinc treatment should do yah wonders.

Tretinoin will act as a peeling agent immediately and if you're only targeting that one spot I'd begin using every other night. This will help shrink the gland underneath there after a few months. Use it sparingly unless you want to target other areas for acne and/or fine lines.

For your zinc oxide mixture, I do a one to one ratio with coconut oil, dab on with a q tip about an hour or so before bed while watching tv. Then when it's time to hit the sheets, rub it in. You can make it chalky if you want and do more powder than oil if you want more of a drying effect. Make sure you make the mixture fresh each time.

Alternate the two (tretinoin/zinc) every other night.

I get contact dermatitis from vitamin e which is why I use coconut oil. Some don't tolerate coconut either; if that's the case, jojoba oil will work wonders. This combo not only regenerates new skin, shrinks the oil gland and speeds healing but is also a one-two punch for any acne. But tretinoin takes time if used for prevention.

can the tretinoin, zinc oxide and oil be bought at safeway? walgreens? And is the zinc oxide a powder? How long before results? would tea tree oil work as oil?

so MWF: tretinoin TTH: zinc, oil mix

?

thanks for your help mate

Yep, that schedule looks perfect. Unfortunately you'll have to pick up a scrip for tretinoin. Sometimes you can find it online on amazon and you can definitely get it at the Indian pharmacies online without a script, but insurance usually covers it so if that's an option for you I HIGHLY recommend it.

Zinc oxide powder is available online on amazon. If you can't get it, I'll grab the name of the manufacturer and phone number off of my package as it says they offer it direct.

Don't use tea tree oil. Tea tree acts as a peeling agent and is very strong (there's a reason it's in dark glass as it will eat right through plastic). Go for a stable oil. Your cheapest will be coconut, available in the grocery store. The best is unrefined and it's chunky, in a jar, but will melt on contact with skin.

It'll be worth the work to have these all on hand as they're about all you need head to toe skin care wise.

I'd get it surgically removed. Personally, I'd rather have a small scar than a festering lump. I had to have a cyst removed from my upper back and there was a cigarette-burn looking scar there, but now it's barely noticeable. When the cyst was there, it would occasionally flair and fester-- and sometimes it seemed as if acne would pop up right near it--- drove me crazy. Sometimes those cysts grow the older you get.

Can someone suggest something other than surgery or prescription meds? tazorac hasn't worked and neither has doxy or minocycline. TTO seems to be making it more red. it just a red bump for over a year that responds to nothing.

Suggestions?

thank you for your help.
