Hi All,
I've lurked here for years but haven't ever posted.
I got my first ever set of cortisone injections on Thursday afternoon. The dermatologist injected 1 brand new (but small) active cyst and 5 older ones that used to be huge but shrank over time. The old ones have flattened out, but the new one is now enormous. Is this normal? I've never had a lot of faith in dermatologists and this surely does not help.
How long ago have you had them done? Usually the derm will ask you right off the bat how long you've had the cyst. They typically dont want want to shoot 1 until it has gotten to its blown state. That being said, Ive had several shots and find that immediately after having them done they are very inflamed and irritated, often appearing bigger than they were.
Because your small hadnt yet "ripened", the derm likely used a small diluted solution on that 1 that wasnt enough to knock it out. Id give it a week, call the derm, and you can always get another shot.
Good luck
