Hey everyone,

So here is a little about me. I am 29 years old female and i weigh 130lbs. A year ago today, I was put on accutane (40mg/day). In exactly 1 week, it will be my post 6 month period.

I believe my face is worse than it was when started accutane. I not have cycstic acne all around my jaw line and a few on my neck. I also sometimes (rarely) get on my forehead.

I do have semi good news. when i initally stopped accutane i had obvious rolling scars (which i never had before). and not they are almost gone.

I regret taking it however I am not going to dwell on that. What's done is done.

I went back to see my useless dermatologist and he said I would need to either go back on it again for another 6 months (which wouldn't guarantee me clear skin) or try a birth control (which I haven't tried). He also gave me a prescription for Epiduo. i bought manuka honey and i have been giving myself a facial mask at least 3 times a week. i also just wash my face once a day. i stopped liquid foundation and i am only using powder. I also stopped dairy, aspartame, caffeine and chap stick. can you see how desperate i am???

So here are my questions for you:

1) Has accutane failed for you? what did you do to change it?

2) Should i go for the birth control? or should i try a chemical peel? or microdermabrasion? or....?

3) Should i give it another 6 more months? is there hope for my skin to clear? or am i wishful thinking?

4) i do still have slight discoloration...will that go away soon?

5) any help or info will help me! Thanks!
