Hot compresses can help.

If its a pustule, i tend to drain them to help relieve pressure. i dont start picking and poking it, i do it the corrects and clean way which a sterilised needle. Sometimes it helps, but only if its a pustule.

Some say ice helps, but ive always found hot compresses to help me more.

Take some medication maybe to help?

I have a cyst on my chin at the moment, and it hurts everytime i move my mouth. Im using a hot compress and it is slowly taking away the pain.

Try applying an antiseptic cream. I currently have mild cystic acne and I've been doing that to relieve the pain, it seems to help.

Hot compresses help me tremendously and they seem to bring the pimple to a head faster, which increases healing time (although, keep that in mind before a big event - if you use a hot compress it might give you a whitehead). You could also try an noninflammatory like ibuprofen.
