Started to break out mildy around the age of 16 went to my housedoctor who gives me the typical benzyl creme, at first i do remember that it helped a bit then i stopped taking it but then I broke out again which made me use the creme again but this time with no improvement it only became worse.
This was before summer 2006.
Then summerbreak 2006 came up and my acne became really bad, not just your typical puber acne. I went to the derm when i came back from vacation and he putted me on isotretioine for 6 months. It cleared up and looked like it was under control. He said the redness will fade away with time.
Now quick forward we're 4 years later without me taking anything I'm still left with this but I've never been completely clear for more then 2 days, its like a curse because everytime a new whitehead/red lump pops up.
So i'm pretty sure i've never gotten completely rid of my acne.
Now I've made an appointment with another derm this friday and I'm wondering what I should ask him to put me on or for what kind of advice i need to ask for.
What do you guys think will be my solution to get as close as possible to a even looking skin/even complexion?
Because it really is tiresome, I don't have to explain any of you how hard a struggle acne can be mentally, we've all been there and im still there, some days i feel ok but some day i have trouble letting people get anywhere near my face.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!
I also have an shaving issue, because whenever i shave myself i break out also i always need to get to the hairsaloon/couffure to get myself a clean shave, and growing out a beard is no option because i have weak facial hair growth.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!
ps: excuse my bad grammar/vocubulary, im from belgium
well you look pretty good, great skin tone, some mild scarring on one cheek...but your acne is very mild, I'm sure a good topical regime will take care of it for you....so the derm is a good idea
whatever you choose, be patient and give it 3 months before you declare it's not working
you could ask about the scarring and what they recommend..it's pretty mild and just that one cheek
if money is no object then you could do one or two fraxels and that would help...if no money then look into self rolling or stamping, check out the owndoc.ocm forum
good luck you really are in pretty good shape, count your blessings
Thanks again for the helpfull comments mrs Robinson, much appreciated! Thats exactly what I'm going to do, will hear what those 2 derm have to say about my current situation and what can/can't be done. And I'll defintely question them about this fraxel treatment, first thing I heard about it and after a quick google search it might be just what I was looking for!
