Tretinoin And Doxycycline

Hi! I'm currently using Tretinoin cream 0.05%, Doxycycline 100mg once daily, and washing my face with clean and clear benzoyl peroxide was 10% both morning and night... This is about my 3rd week into this regimen. I don't have dry skin, and very little flaking. This past week seemed to be an initial breakout for me (about 4 cysts on my chin, lots of small pimples on around my temples, and a few pimples on my forehead) But everything is already almost healed up and my skin is starting to look really good. I haven't had a new break out in about 3 days. My acne is also pretty mild. Usually no more than 4 or 5 bumps at a time. if that.

My questions are... Is it normal to not break out for a long period of time on tretinoin cream? I heard most people have their initial breakout for at least 3 weeks to few months. but mine only seems to have lasted a week.

And when I stop taking my doxycycline, will I stop breaking out again even if I'm on retin-a? ):

start* not stop lol. :P

When I first started on epiduo (differin and bp), which is also a retinoid i broke out for a couple months even though i was on doxy and a topical antibiotic as well.

after that i was clear for almost two years, i'd still get a zit or whatever, but clear otherwise.

i stopped using the epiduo on most of my face successfully for about 5 months then started breaking out again.

it took 3 months and getting back on doxy to finally calm it. i'm currently reducing my doxy dose from 200mg to 100mg and then every other day and so on.

i've been clear for almost a month after a shitty shitty past 5 months. 2 to 3 of those have been readjusting to doxy, epiduo

differin, the retinoid in epiduo, is stable with bp, but most retinoids are not. I do not think that trentinoin is stable with it, meaning that you using a bp wash is probably making your retinoid less effective or possibly completely ineffective. i would suggest stopping all bp with that particular retinoid.
