Combining Benzoyl Peroxide And Salicylic Acid=Bad?

I've been struggling with moderate acne for the past two years and I'm literally losing all hope for my skin, since I've tried almost everything, except accutane. Last time I visited the dermatologist, I was prescribed epiduo in the pm, aczone in the am, and solodyn (minocycline) daily. After finishing the first month of the antibiotic, I stopped taking it because I became frustrated and noticed no difference in my skin. I still use the epiduo at night and a couple of days ago, I used the epiduo under a thin layer of dermologica overnight clearing gel, which has salicylic acid in it. Each morning, I notice a slight improvement in my acne, specifically where I put the overnight gel over the epiduo. Is this combination beneficial to acne or should I stop combining the products? eusa_think.gif

It depends on what works for you. But at least with me I know that combining those two products would definitely dry out my skin (which can cause more acne if your skin doesent retain enough moisture) so for me I would say no. However one thing that i would watch for is using a moisturizer (Non-comodgenic) if your skin does start to dry out. Best of luck with combining them let us know how it works!

Whenever I used alot of products it made my skin produce more pimples, because it really dried out and essentially stripped my skin of essential oils. Try to pick one method to combat the acne and stick with it for a while, if after a week you don't notice a difference try another method.
