Hi my name isaac, im 17 and also a junior in high school. I been struggling with acne and its not going to well, i don't know what im doing wrong, i just feel sad, disgusted with my face, i want to burs into tears really. cant even look at my friends in the eyes when they talk to me, i been really down, tried so many things but nothing seems to be working, my face right now is dry, flaky, uneven, acne, dark spots, and hyper pigmentation lots. I tried to leave my skin alone but i just cant. I keep telling my self its going to get better, that its normal, that its not a big deal. But at the end of the day i feel upset nothing seems to be working. Acne was shield me from family and friends, and other obstacles that mean alot to me. Just turn 17 this Dec 6, my b-day wish was to be done with acne and have normal skin, but i guess im far from that.
Need Advice
I highly recommend checking out Lumiplexion. Go to their website or FB page. Pamela is the owner. You can email or call her. She will set up a regimen for you specifically. Her products are not as cheap as store bought items, but they are better than store bought items. I have used her products since I was 19 and I'm 43. She will work with you until your skin is under control.
You're not alone, man. It took me until age 21 to finally get my face clear... high school was a nightmare! What personally seemed to do it for me was a combination of things: Everything from using Ceftin to brushing teeth with fluoride-free toothpaste to switching multivitamins. There are a *lot* of variables, and if even one is out of whack, you might not get anywhere.
What have you tried so far? If nothing else, simply keeping a log of the products/methods you try and their results (give each thing a month to work, at least) is something you should absolutely be doing.

The only new thing i included in my regimen was eggwhite with oatmeal and lemon juice mask im guessing the lemon dried my skin or irritated it ,but i guess it whent wrong. I eat healthy and drink green tea 3 cups daily/ water too. Exercise 3 times a week indoors and out doors ;/ , i been on and off diff products not even sticking to them. Ill just stick with a cleanser and a moisturizer with my only face mask i trust. Txs for the advice it means alot
Why don't you try the Regimen? My sons have been on it for about 6 weeks now and are having good results, much better than anything they've tried in the past. The regimen, combined with a good diet of limiting dairy and high sugar and carbs, should help you. But you will need to stick with it, there are no overnight cures.
if you are having an outbreak that is more than your usually acne, your body maybe fighting a losing battle at the moment. I would schedule an appt with your primary doctor and get started on some antibiotics to help your body out. Now, yes antibiotics such a bad stigma around them I know. But they work. They save lives and help those when used correctly.
I would encourage you to use something like BP cream to assist the controlling of the acne breakouts. Do not use salicylic acid as it will make your skin irritated, flak, and produce more oil. I believe this is not the product for you at this time.
Now, I would encourage you if you do take antibiotics to replace the good flora that are destroy by the antibiotics if you do get them. The acidophilus "Pearls" are the kind that are easy to take and do not need to be refrigerated. Just remember to take them. Of course there are alternatives to this, but just remember you do NOT need like 6+ billion cultures; its too much, can cause diarrhea, and make you worse.
Now, as a teen you must understand that your body is growing and developing. Your hormones help contribute to this grow, but also cause acne flare ups. This is normal, unfortunate most peoples diets make this normal phenomenon worse, many times worse. We westerners do not eat well. I would suggest you atleast try to eat a diet that does not cause massive blood sugar spikes, and that is low inflammatory. There are many articles on the boards that you can peer over for that information.
Your move chief.
