Hi there, I'm new to this site, so I hope my post is in the right place. Please excuse my English, punctuation, I'm Italian
Okay, I've had acne for about 8 years. My skin type is oily but nowadays is quite turbulent, and very dry, and uncomfortable due to chemical peels (which were excruciating!), products that were recommended to me by a beautician. Now the beautician is qualified, very knowledgeable but not very open minded. I told her prior using the chemical peel, that I was trying out the OCM (btw it didn't break me out), but she was very dismissive on the OCM, claiming that oils clog your pores. >_> . I've done a lot of research over the past few years, We are not all the same, our chemistry differs, not all oils clog your pores yes I don't have a degree, but does my comment about oils make it invalid?, and not to be explored?.
Ugh, sorry I'm frustrated....., which in turn does not help my skin . Anyway she recommended me some products to use called Holy Land Cosmetics, anyone heard of them?, I'm on the Alpha-Beta & Retinol regime, it is really drying me out, making my itch...
I've been on this regime for a month. I have spoken to her about it, but she claims, it is good to dry out the acne so it can no longer live on the surface of skin, she also claims, that she can make my skin %100 clearer.... what do you think?. I thought drying out your skin too much, causes more sebum to produce, due to lack of moisture, hydration.thus causing more acne to multiply ......I don't know know anymore, It is getting tiresome....
I have some some links here [removed] these are the products I'm using.
If you have any opinions, suggestions.....no arguments here please, ummm yeah...I feel like straying away from this regime, and trying out some hemp seed oil, and sea buckthorn oil. My diet is well balanced, I get enough exercise....though I have a lot of stress, I suffer from clinical depression. so that is all I have to say for now thank you, I would really appreciate your comment, good day.
Yeah it can be tough trying to find the regimen that works for you. You just have to give it a good couple of months to really know if something works or not which can be really hard. You're right about dry skin being bad for acne, at least that's what I've read from multiple sources. I've found it's better to keep any regimen simple and only use a couple products at a time, I was always too scared to try the oil cleansing method because of horror stories of some people on this site but if it works, then it works. Also, I don't know how severe you're skin is but accutane might be something to consider. Good luck, it will get better.
