so i have really had a stubborn acne, new pimples every day, mainly forehead and jaw. I used to wash my face everyday with cerave cleanser 2x a day.

Now im on vacation and this is what ive been doing:

- Drinking myself drunk every single day

- Home at like sunrise, then back to bed

- sleeping for a few hours

- waking up at like 1pm

- chillin with friends till its time to party again

Anyway, alcohol and partying made my acne 10x better? Wtf?! I have Max 2 zits now lol

Also, i only washed my face in the morning btw..

This vacation should have made my acne 10x worse, not better? anyway, im happy haha. But i find this really weird..

that's either coincidence or just sun and relaxed state of mind.

no one should be trying this 'stunt' btw!

Lack of stress. You don't give a fuck - that's why you are clear. True vacation is the best cure. I wish i could be free minded, see what i want to see, do not care about anyone, anything, vacation on vanuatu, smoking weed laughing, and having good time. Tis a only cure, but reality is different tongue.png

Someone must heard of the people who cured cancer by smoking weed - simply. Im on chronic stress i know how it works. Thanks for this topic, it helped me realize that my acne is caused by stress.

Anybody knows good solution for stress?

Well, it's a fact that stress stimulates androgen production in the body which can increase oil = acne. So, we all just need a vacation! :)

This happens to me too. If I have a weekend binge of alcohol, I don't breakout at all and if I go alcohol free for a week, I do. I think stress is a factor, but alcohol also slows down your immune response which is essentially the cause of an inflamed pore (acne).

We can't rely on that though because in the long run it will either make our skin worse, or we'll be alcoholics. I use alcohol for my anxiety too which worries me, but it seems to be the only thing that works. That's not relevant to this forum though, I have a forum specifically for that!

Could be the sun, or you are allergic to something you usually eat, and aren't eating what you usually eat at home. But it could be a vitamin D deficiency! Maybe try taking a supplement when you get home. Seems to be working for me!

Your just too drunk to notice your complexion and your liver will explode so acne wont be your issue in the end. :) good luck

Last summer I drank like no one's business and I noticed that my skin was significantly clearer than it is now. I mean at that time I was in a good relationship, in a good mindset, and was physically/mentally stable, but I was also under a tremendous amount of stress. I wonder....?

To drink or not to drink... that is the question.

No doubt, do not drink.

It may cause temporary "relief" but the future shall hit you with a boulder.

About 8 weeks ago I went on a short holiday. I ate heaps of junk food and also drank alcohol. To my surprise my acne seemed to instantly clear up and stayed that way for about 6 weeks, have just started to break out again. I think it was less stress??

Most likely... When we have less stress our bodies seem to relax and our acne is relieved. Stress causes everything in our bodies to go out of whack and unfortunately our skin (being the elimination organ that it is) tends to take the brunt of it. :/

lol No honey, it doesn't. The correlation between acne and "stress" is marginal at best. Since acne is a genetic disease of the follicle lining eliminating all your life stressors would not clear up your acne as that still doesn't fix up your faulty genetics. Androgens only play but a "role" in the acne genesis they are not the full contributor.

I don't understand how and why some people keep acting like they know everything about acne and it's cause.

but anyway, stress is a major factor(not the only factor) for some(who has acne causing genetic set up).

the bottomline is genetics is a clear cause. but factors like stress, diet, skincare, lifestyle switches on & off the acne key in those people.

so,when we say stress is a factor , none of us mean "stress is the only factor that causes acne". we aint crazy people!

what we mean to say is "stress was the only/one of the many factors that triggered/initiated my acne since we already have acne causing genetic set up).
