Hi, I've been using the regimen for about 5 months and my active pimples have noticeably cleared up. I've begun to use dan's AHA+ at night to speed up the elimination of my hyperpigmentation and to soften up my face.
However, I've noticed that my face has become flakier and flakier over time. I've used the AHA+ mixed in 1/2 and 1/2 with moisturizer every night for about 1.5 weeks, then AHA+ alone every 2 days at night for the past week. I'd expect AHA to peel off the skin, but it just sits on my face. Whenever I shower I see how rough, uneven and flaky my skin really is. What should I do?
I can't really advise you on the AHA+ as my skin was always too sensitive to use it when I was on the Regimen but I did find mixing a few drops of jojoba oil into my moisturiser really helped with the flaking skin that I had from the BP. I also used to put jojoba oil on its own on my face sometimes to gently exfoliate the worst of the flaking off. You might want to try this if you haven't already and hopefully it will help you too. Good luck!

See I've tried putting on jojoba oil to smooth out my skin, but it just makes the top of my face feel even thicker and greasier.
Is it bad to exfoliate while on the regimen? I thought AHA would take care of the flakes, which is why I never bothered to
Yeh exfoliating with proper exfoliators on the regimen is definitely a bad idea. I never exfoliate anyway because my skin's so sensitive. However I found that super gentle 'exfoliation' with just jojoba oil didn't seem to irritate my skin too much and succeeded in getting rid of the surface flakes. If you leave it on for somewhere between 15 and 30 minutes then very gently rub the skin a little with clean fingertips you might find the worst of the flakes come off with the jojoba oil. Then you can wash and do your normal morning/evening regimen. I used to do this about 3 times a week when I was using the regimen. Some people may disagree with the method but it worked for me!
