Some plp say that within a couple years i'll be able to map out my genes in an office for about $100. having such a "map" doctors say they'll be able to much better treat there patients because the medicine will be more effective. i imagine that if it's true the same could be said about the treatment for acne right? a dermatologist will be able to give you gene specific medication, i imagine that would vastly improve it's effectiveness. I think this could be the answer we've all been waiting for.
While they can "map" exactly what your genes are, all the functions of each gene are not yet known. In 10-20 years though, it will be as common to get your genes checked as a doctor's physical exam today. It has huge implications in flagging if someone is predisposed for various cancers or certain hereditary diseases.
