Cetaphil is recommended by dermatologists. Cerave i read is similar to cetaphil except more expensive.
Would these gentle cleansers work on acne prone skin? I know these cleansers are great if your skin is clear and use it to wash your face to keep it clean but does it work for acne prone skin?
Cetaphil seems to be like water when i used it many years ago.
I bought cetaphil cleanser abt three weeks ago its the first cleanser that's doesn't dry out my skins it also feels very very nice on the skin and it makes my face feelin fresh and clean and I havnt got any new spots which is good yu should try it. theirs no harm in it coz my skin is very very sensitive and its working for me
Both Cetaphil and CeraVe are very gentle so they don't cause drying or irritation to the skin like many cleansers that are developed and marketed for those with acne (i.e., medicated cleansers and those with exfoliating beads, etc). Some people notice an improvement in their skin once they stop using the other irritating products and are more gentle with their skin. Contrary to popular belief, many with acne actually have pretty sensitive skin and scrubbing/harsh products can exacerbate the problem. I don't know about results with these products re: improvement in acne. I know I always required medications to clear my skin although I think the gentle cleanser, increasing my moisturizer and drinking more water helped.
These cleansers aren't acne fighting cleansers. They are gentle ones without active ingredients like SA or BP. If you are looking for a face cleanser that helps fight your acne you should be looking at one that have BP or SA I'm them. You could also use a gentle cleanser like CeraVe. That's what I use because it has amazing ingredients in it that you can never find in a drug store brand. But you could use CeraVe or Cetaphil which ever you prefer and then spot treat its tea tree oil that's dulited a bit. Then I follow up with a toner which I love I use witch hazel its cheap as ever. 0.75 cents for a bottle that I've been using for 6 months and still have 1/4 left.
I posted this on another thread:
I would highly suggest washing your face with baking soda and hibiscus flower water. Go to a health food store and buy organic/dried hibiscus flower, soak it in distilled water for an hour or more, you'll see that the water will turn a deep purple (full of Vitamin C, google it). Soak your face with water, add a little bit of baking soda in your hands, scrub your face lightly, rinse, than add the hibiscus flower water to your face and let it dry. You'll notice a BIG difference. Try it for a week and let me/us know what you think.
massive love,
Eric
P.S. what I'm sharing with you is an all natural method that has no negative reactions compared to a lot of the stuff we usually buy at stores for our skin, so don't be afraid of it, believe and trust in nature and you'll see results. There IS a natural way to control our breakouts and the final results are life changing. This is an excellent exterior cleanser, but there's some more work that needs to be done inside our temple to see more powerful results.
