Thinking About Trying An Aha Product

But I'm worried that it'll break me out.

It just seems like my skin doesn't shed the skin on its own quick enough. I use a washcloth weekly to get rid of the dead skin cells but it seems like that is too irritating and causes a breakout a few days later.

What are your thoughts on AHA products? If I start using aha, will it OVER exfoliate my skin and start shedding the layers underneath the top layer? Also, if I start using it, will it prevent my skin from naturally shedding itself since it's used to the aha doing it (meaning I will have to use aha all my life)?

It hasn't broken me out at all, though I did have to start slowly with it. I am still not at the point of using it by itself (I mix a small amount with my moisturiser) except on one side of my chin where I am still blemish-prone and have been using more of the product in that area.

I really like it; it makes my skin very smooth! :)

BTW, I've been using AlphaHydrox lotion.

What are your concerns? Why do you want to try AHA?
