Can someone please let me know if this type of acne is curable and what I should be doing to try and fix the problem. I am not sure of my skin type but I am pretty sure its not oily or dry.
Lastly, is it possible to get rid of the dark spots (Hyperpigmentation) on my skin ? its from picking at old pimples.

Are you using any kind of medication for your acne or hyperpigmentation? Or what kinds of medication have you tried?
I Have been using a Wal-Mart brand of Apricot Facial Scrub/Exfoliator and I use Cetaphil moisturizer everyone once in a while. For the most part I just wash my face with water but I have tried other products in the past. If anyone could please help I would appreciate it, acne is super depressing.

Ever tried a tretinoin cream? It usually works really well in getting rid of existing acne. It doesn't prevent it, but I used to use it for spot treatment. Your picture doesn't show acne to be that bad so maybe that would help. Also, tretinoin works pretty well for hyper pigmentation.
stop using that scrub.
use a chemical exfoliator if u need it.bha wash according to me is good.it also helps with hyperpigmentation.
whats ur diet and lifestyle like?
they play parts.
moisturize only when needed.
if u aint dry, dont pile on creams just like that.
have lots of water.
check ur insulin level.add cinnamon powder to maintain that naturally.
do u take any supplements?
i would suggest clindamycin + adapalene(which many call differin) for existing acne.
I have started going to the gym recently and drinking a lot of water but I have spent at least 3 years doing absolutely nothing really plus I had been smoking/drinking a lot too. I don't think my face is acne prone, I thinks its due to poor diet, no exercise and excessive drinking/smoking for 3 years straight. I am hoping that my face will improve over the next few months now that I have quit drinking and smoking and have begun going to the gym and drinking plenty of water (which I never did until recently). Is it possible that just changing my lifestyle will improve my acne ? I am not in a rush to try different products/chemicals that may make my face even worse. Is it at all possible to have my face looking smooth and normal again or is some of it irreversible? please let me know.
hi, I dont see anything in your pics that looks irreversible. You dont seem to have scarring just some darker pigment.
Have you tried AHA? You can get it at a drugstore. You can also try coconut oil or lactic acid, some people apply yogurt or full-fat milk and fade the marks. Id try natural remedies first as honestly your skin doesnt look all that bad. If these dont work, maybe see a derm about a peel or professional dermabrasion. For me, I used AHA to fade my dark spots, wored fairly well.
yes,its possible.
u gotta check the link of TREATACNE on my signature.she's proved that diet and lifestyle has so much to do with acne(FOR SOME PEOPLE,OTHERS MAY OR MAY NOT GET ANY EFFECT AT ALL).
since urs is not very grave like the poster above mentioned u can 1st try changing ur diet(no dairy, limit sugar, take cinnamon etc)- check the diet forum thoroughly for more. and use a aha or bha wash(i suggest salicylic acid face wash 1%)
give it 2-3 mnths.
i think u will see positive results.
u can check blogs, post on the right forum or PM me if u need any help on ur diet & lifestyle.
