I need help trying to clear my skin of acne. I've tired numerous products and I just don't know what to do. I have blackheads on my nose, and acne on my cheeks, chin and back/ shoulders. Sometimes I get really big zits that won't go away for days! They hurt really bad and I've gotten scars from some of them. It's embarrassing. The big ones I've tried poking with a needle and the puss comes up and a hard white head. But then the next morning it will fill back up and takes forever to get rid of. In result of everything I have irritated skin, and uneven skin tone. I have sensitive skin and it gets oily throughout the day. ( Im a redhead with really fair skin)I put makeup on for school to hide my acne and then wash it off at night time/ and morning. In the shower I use cetaphil cleanser, then i have clearasil pads that take the test of my makeup and dirt off. then finally i dab on this medicine with benzol stuff in it. Any help? I don't know what to do! Bye I'm 17, turning 18 in June. I just want my face and back finally clear for prom and the summer.
I don't know if it would help you, but the thing that helped me clear my acne up the most was changing my diet. It's not so much the things you do eat that cause the problems, as rumored. Unless you are eating something that you have an allergy to like maybe milk. Cow milk is not for people and the added hormones cause problems as well. You hear that things like greasy food and candy and stuff cause acne. I don't think that's the problem. It's the nutrients that you are NOT recieving in your diet that cause the acne. Vitamins and minerals and things like chlorphyll and enzymes and stuff that your body needs to properly flush out toxins. Eat plenty of fresh, raw fruits and veggies and berries and stuff. Plenty of leafy greens. Wheat grass is awesome. Once I added all of these healthy uncooked things to my diet, my skin cleared. It will take a long time. It was months before I saw the total result of my diet change in my skin, but the skin is the last place to recieve nutrients, so this is not uncommon. When you do it this way, it's permanent though. Drink plenty of water. Keeping the acne away with topicals is just a way to battle the symptoms without curing the real cause, which is usually a lack of nutrition. Hope this helps
you might also try one of those clarisonic dealies. I have been thinking of getting one myself. Even though I never get cysts any more, I still get blackheads and small whiteheads that only I notice. I've heard those things are really great for keeping pores cleared out.
The bottom line is if you are using Benzoyl Peroxide and it isn't clearing you up, you need to take things up a notch. Try moving on to/combining it with Salycilic Acid - try Paula's Choice.com for this stuff (it's helped maintain a sort of clear complexion for me). If you don't get anywhere with this visit a doctor or dermatologist, leavning Acne to thrive without the proper treatment is the worst mistake I ever made. Good luck!
