Hello,
I wrote on this forum that I have been taking Saw Palmetto for a month and half. The first month of taking was perfect for me!!! The skin was smooth and chin acne were gone. Now three days ago, I have noticed a massive explosion around the jaw/chin area and now I noticed one pimple on the cheek that is so painful.
I also want to say that I am taking Ortho Cyclen.
Should I just give up saw palmetto? or wait a bit longer... I am so confused by this experience... what the hell is this? I am taking SP to reduce my chin acne but now it is worse even though it was amazing for a month.
Please help
Saw palmetto can be risky. I saw improvement the first month in both my acne and my facial hair, but then the acne and facial hair started to come back even though my dosage was either the same or higher (I experimented with various amounts). Since you are mostly taking saw palmetto for chin hair, I don't think it's worth it. I treat mine with laser and electrolysis and it's responding well to the treatments. It's not worth messing up your hormones just for some chin hair, especially since you are also on birth control.

girl, I am talking about chin acne... not chin hair 🙂 hehe!
You know what? I will give it one week and I will stop! I just want to see if it is going to better for a week!
Thank you for your response.

I wish Ortho Cyclen helped... It helped clear my face except for chin area... *sigh*... yeah SP seems risky, you are right....
oops, sorry! I was reading someone else's post about chin hair and I got mixed up. Still, I would be cautious with saw palmetto because it can create or accentuate hormonal imbalances. But don't quit taking it abruptly...just slowly reduce the dosage and then finally stop altogether.
