Hey everybody,

this is my first time in this Forum. I am 26 years old and I had acne problems since I was 15 years old. I tried everything: over the counter, different oral medication, the regimen etc etc. I was close to try Accutane but because I want to have children soon I decided against it. I recently moved to New York City and found out about the smoothbeam treatment. I started doing a lot of research and decided to go for it.

I found a place in Manhattan that does the treatment and the clinic had a really good reviews from hundreds of clients in yelp. I had my consultation done 2 weeks ago and the clinic told me that they would recommend a series of 6 smootbeams and maybe one chemical peel depending on my process.

Well, I went for my first smoothbeam session 3 days ago. The Lady put the numbing cream on my face and we waited about 45 min before we started.

She used a high setting (12) and it did really hurt especially on the pimples OUCH!!! Thank God I wasn't red AT ALL after the treatment.

The doctor told me that I will most likely break out first because of the skin basically pushing out all the bacteria.

Day 1, I didn't notice any difference.

Day 2, my coworkers told me that my skin was glowing. I did notice I looked a lot "fresher". My skin didn't look as tired. And I had one huuuuge pimple right on my nose that after only one day totally dried out and is now completely gone.

Today is day 3, My skin looks a lot better in general. I started breaking out on my jaw. Well I had lots and lots of pimples on my jaw before my 1st session and now those pimples are breaking out. But I think it is necessary to break out before the healing process begins) My pores seem a lot smaller. This is only after the first session. I don't have any side effects at all except for the little break out which she told me would happen anyways.

I researched in the forums and saw a lot of people complaining about the break outs, but I think that the skin really has to break out before the healing process begins especially for those with active acne and cysts. Remember smoothbeam works under the skin.

I am just posting this because I thought some other people might be interested in doing the procedure and I would like to give you updates every now and then. I have my next smoothbeam scheduled for 1.5 weeks.

Let me know if you have any questions.
