Alright, so my face is sensitive and i have dry skin all over my body, i have acne and hyperpigmentation and its pretty bad.. I dont expect to get rid of it all but i want to minimize it the most i possibly can, i have tried alot of things. Currenty i am using Elta MD UV Clear SPF 46 sunscreen, but when i put it on it dries my skin and i have to wipe off the flakes with my hand! it saids its for skin types prone to acne, rosacea and hyperpigmentation and thats what i have! Then not everyday but i also use Burts Bees Orange Essence facial cleanser sometimes. What should i start doing everyday to protect my skin from the sun(i live in az), and at the same time minimize my acne/red spots? thanks
What I've been doing is using my acne creams at night (I use Aveeno clear complexion moisturizer with salicylic acid) as well as benzoyl peroxide (2.5%). During the day I started using Cetaphil facial moisturizer with SPF15, I believe it also comes in SPF 45.
I have very sensitive, dry skin with lots of hyperpigmentation. My biggest issue is that make-up only accentuates the dryness and flakiness, but I need it to conceal my spots!
So keeping my face protected from the sun and hydrated during the day while working on improving my acne at night has been my new routine.
In terms of products I'm not really sure, I know that a lot of people use Avene products for intolerant skin/rocasea.
My skin scars very easily so yes, I have spots that have been there a long time. I've been using lemon juice to help fade scars, it works fairly well if done regularly. Does take a few weeks to see results but I would suggest giving it a try.
Have you ever heard of turmeric for acne and acne scars? I found out about it a few days ago and have read some great reviews online. I tried it as a face mask, adding about a teaspoon of turmeric with 3 tablespoons of low fat greet yogurt, a bit of lemon juice and honey, as well as a dash of flour to thicken it up. Apparently turmeric helps lighten scars, and the yogurt helps with my dry skin.
Since they are all natural ingredients you shouldn't have any problems with your sensitive skin, but maybe test it out on a smaller area first.
