I hear lot of ppl mention how they are put on antibiotics for their acne. What is the name of these antibiotics? Are they usually taken like twice a day?

Is it true if your acne is from the inside, then antibiotics is the solution and not products?

Tetracycline antibiotics are often used to treat acne, specifically minocycline, doxycycline, and tetracycline. Solodyn is also used. Since being on this board I have also heard of others such as Bactrim being prescribed. The dosing is obviously up to the physician that prescribes them, I have been on antibiotics that I have taken once a day and I have been on some that I have taken twice a day. It just depends on the dosage your doctor feels you need. Some people have better results with antibiotics while others do well with topicals and still others don't respond with either, just depends on the person and their skin. In my personal experience, antibiotics have helped with more severe outbreaks. Best of luck to you!
