Im about to start a regimen of using epiduo and cetaphil antibacterial gentle cleansing bar only at night. I am also going to continue taking 30mg of zinc at night. I do not like using moisturizer because it tends to break me out more. what do you guys think of this regimen? do you think it will be very drying?

I am not sure what epido is, but cetaphil is very gentle, so I think that part would be good. I am also not sure of the effects of zinc, but lots of members in our diet/holistic forum have had experience with zinc supplements in their regimen. If you worry it will get too drying, try having a good moisturizer on hand, just in case.

I just found a thread that document's a user's (and lots of users, I think) experience with epido. Hope it helps. http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php/topic/215485-my-epiduo-experience/

Take about 100mg zinc, best anti-inflammatory in my opinion. Anything less then 80mg doesn't work as well. Depends on height and body fat. Consider upping it from 30mg

I was on 90mg of optizinc for around a month. I chose to lower the dosage after finding some research indicating that this much zinc increases your chance of having prostate cancer by 3x. I am looking for a longterm fix and don't want to megadose on zinc for long periods of time. I am thinking about introducing cetaphil moisturizer into my routine. hopefully it helps with the dryness. Does anybody have any recommendations how to get rid of that shiny look on your face once you put moisturizer on? my face always seems to look greasy when i use moisturizer.
