Hi Im a 19 year old guy who has some moderate-severe acne. I had it since I was 12-13 and in many ways, has changed my life. Acne has been prevalent in my family as my dad had mild acne while my mom had moderate-severe acne, so you could say I could it from my mom's side. I have 3 brothers and 1 sister, and the only ones who have the same acne as me and my mom are 1 of my brothers and my sister, so 2 of my brothers were lucky and were spared this curse.
Like many have said, I have tried almost everything but to no avail, my acne still continues on.
I have tried proactiv, BP and SA regimes but they didn't help at all. In fact, those regimes caused more harm to my skin.
I have also tried Accutane for around 14 months and it did clear my skin but there were too many side effects like crusty dry skin and lips everyday, not being able to wear contacts and EXTREME sensitivity to the sun. Not only that, I had a growing joint/ligament pain on my right knee after taking it. It started as a faint pain then grew to the point where I couldn't move or take another step because the pain was soo unbearable. But after doing some more research, I have learned that many people have suffered this same side effect and some even had to get knee surgery because of Accutane so I am glad I went off that.
Currently my daily regime is:
Wake up, wet face with warm water and wash my face with Cetaphil Oily to Normal Skin.
Pat face dry with towel.
Apply Cetaphil Moisturizer with 15 SPF ( I use 50SPF on sunny days where I know I will be outside for extended times)
Same procedure for night but I use Cetaphil Moisturizing lotion instead of the SPF moisterizer.
As you can see, there aren't really any chemicals treating my acne as I am allowing it to heal naturally. I have changed my diet(slightly) by avoiding simple sugars as much as possible and to drink alot of water everyday. I generally breakout around the mouth area and on the cheeks while my forehead was pretty much clear with some scars but lately my forehead has been breaking out. It could be that now I am back in school taking full classes or that my hair has grown considerably long (to my standards) and the oils from it could causing the break out. I will see if that's the case because I will get a haircut soon.
I'm wondering if there are any successful regimes, products, anything that could help me clear up my acne. Please back up with some evidence as it is generally known that one thing may not work for another person, but I may be more inclined to follow that if it has been success for a large number of people.

Sorry I haven't shaved yet so don't mind the Fu Manchu. And I was bending over with the camera so I may look awkward in the pictures too :/
Well if you wanted to stay natural, many people start internally by going:
gluten and dairy free. If you're feeling really adventurous, you might want to look into going PALEO.
Also, maybe get an intolerance test done to see if you are intolerant to food. As for your skin, i found leaving my skin alone made it worse and i couldn't deal but you may not have that problem- you'll also be able to gauge better if diet works for you
